Church Place Update including the Services of a Pharmacist Prescriber (posted on Tue, 20 Dec 2016 14:58:00 )
We would like to update our patients on the future of Church Place and Johnstonebridge Surgeries.
Following the departure of Dr Crosby we have been unsuccessful in recruiting a replacement GP. You may be aware from the media that there is a nationwide shortage of GP’s. Many other areas across Scotland are facing similar issues and recruitment to GP vacancies is very challenging.
We have been reviewing the services we currently provide to ensure that we maintain the current high level of service to all patients registered at the practice and have been fortunate in obtaining the services of Dot Kirkpatrick, who is an experienced and knowledgeable member of the Prescribing Support Pharmacy Team from Dumfries & Galloway Health Board and an Independent Prescriber. Dot will hold clinics at the Moffat Surgery on a Tuesday afternoon to provide support for patients who have medication issues or long term conditions.
Examples of initial areas of responsibility will include:
Our Practice Nurse, Karen Calvert, is an experienced practitioner who will assist with triage to ensure continuity of care. You can make a telephone appointment with Karen who will determine if you require a further consultation with either herself or a GP.
Please remember that we have other resources which you can take advantage of including our website:-
Our text reminder service has been proving popular with patients. The Practice will send a message to your mobile to remind you of your appointment. If this is of interest we would be grateful if you could inform the reception staff of your up-to-date mobile number.
FREE Text Reminder Service (posted on Tue, 15 Mar 2016 13:00:00 )
The Practice now has a free text appointment reminder in place. To ensure you receive these reminders, please let us know your mobile phone number.
